Making person-centred outcomes transparent

In PETRA, we develop digital platforms that make person-centred quality indicators accessible at a glance—clear, easy to understand, and useful for everyday practice. Current medical quality indicators (MQIs) primarily capture safety-relevant aspects of care.

In PETRA, we explore:

  • How can quality in long-term care be made visible, understandable, practice-relevant, and measurable using person-centred criteria?

Our goal is to make person-centred care visible through quality indicators for care teams, family members, and leaders/managers.

Our actions

  • Making care visible: developing digital platforms and applications to display person-centred care quality

  • Involving key groups: presenting results in ways that are understandable for care staff, family members, and leaders

  • Using digitalisation: co-developing practical, real-world solutions with HumanTech HES-SO Fribourg

  • Drawing on international expertise: collaborating with the University of Wollongong (Australia), which has already generated evidence with similar approaches
